Everyday Makeup Favourites

I own a lot of makeup. A lot of makeup. It's not a massive collection that fills up three chests of drawers but it's pretty impressive if I do say so myself. It's also a growing collection! I buy so much new makeup that my Dad acts surprised when the postman doesn't have a parcel for me!

Though out of my vast collection only a few sacred bits work their way into my everyday routine. When I'm getting ready for work or for going out to coffee with the girls, I want pieces that I can lay my hands to immediately and that I know so well that I don't even have to think when I apply them. I've perfected my everyday makeup to thirty minutes, fifteen if I'm in a rush, and I'd thought I'd share some of my staple bits and bobs that make up my everyday favourites!

Mac Studio Fix Fluid is my absolute ride or die foundation. I adore it and I've yet to find one that surpasses it, mainly because it is the absolute perfect shade for my pale skin tone. I apply it with either my AYU Travel Buffer brush or my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge, whichever I reach for just depends on how I'm feeling that day. Then I conceal under my eyes using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair and then tend to areas of redness and blemishes with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in Porcelain. To finish off I set my under eye area and the rest of my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent or if I need more coverage I'll reach for my Mac Studio Fix Power in NW13, using my Luxie 504 Large Angled brush. I'm pretty sure this brush is intended for highlighter but I flipping love it as a powder brush, it's the perfect size to sweep under my eyes and it's so soft on my skin!

Gonna hold my hands up and admit; I'm not the best at doing brows. I can do a super defined Instagram-esque brow on others but when it comes to my own little terrors, I just can't be bothered. If I'm in a rush I'll just fill them in with powder from my Collection Eyebrow Kit using my AYU Angled Liner brush. . I used to use the lightest shade in the palette when I was a redhead because it had a nice russet finish to it but now that I have blonde highlights, I use the middle dark brown shade. If I have a little more time, I'll fill them in with the wax from the Rimmel Brow This Way kit and set them with powder.

I love an elaborate eye look as much as the next girl. Blown out smokey eye, come to mama! However you know what else I love? My bed. I'm a serial snoozer when it comes to getting up in the morning so nine times out of ten I have about five minutes to throw an eye look together whilst wolfing down a bowl of cereal. I have blue eyes so to make them pop and look less tired, I take some Mac Give Me Sun or Benefit Hoola Bronzer in my crease with my AYU Travel Blender brush. I then deepen up the crease and outer corner with Freedom Makeup Mono Eyeshadow in Nude 209,which despite the name is a lovely brown, using my AYU Travel Pro Blender Brush. If I'm feeling adventurous or have a few minutes to spare, I'll smoke out my outer corner and lower lash line with the Freedom Makeup Mono Eyeshadow in Smoke 210. I love these wee single Freedom shadows. They're so pigmented and easy to blend. I throw them in my makeup bag whenever I go anywhere because they're so handy! And they're just £1 each! Bloody bargain! I finish off my eyes with a coat of Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde mascara in Ultra Black and a coat of Rimmel Wake Me Up Mascara. What can I say? I'm a two mascara type of girl!

Contour and Highlight

Being an Irish girl who is as pale as milk bottles, I have to give my face some dimension or I'll blind folk! I use Benefit Hoola Bronzer with my AYU Travel Angled brush to lightly contour my cheekbones and temples. If I want a bit more colour, I'll use the Real Techniques stippling brush to lightly dust some Mac Give Me Sun to give me some warmth on my face. And when I say lightly, I mean lightly because this bronzer is hella pigmented and I could end up looking like one of Willy Wonka's oompa loompas if I'm not careful with it! To highlight, I use my Collection Speedy Highlighter stick, which is such a godsend when running late, and I finish with my Real Techniques setting brush to blend everything together and make sure there's no harsh lines.

My holy grail lip balm is the mint flavoured Carmex one in the wee squeezy tube. I actually can't stand the taste of strong mint to the point that it actually makes me ill but I love this lip balm?! I honestly can't explain why this is the one mint product that works for me but it does. It leaves my lips feeling so soft and keeps them moisturised all day long. I alternate between the Rimmel Kate 43, a true nude colour, and Mac Taupe which is more of a brown-y nude. I am living for nude lips at the moment because they are perfect for everyday looks and so easy to apply on the go as both these lipsticks can be worn with or without liner!

I love having a snoop and seeing what other people use for their everyday makeup and I love writing about makeup so it did get a bit wordy! Hope you stuck through to the end! Did you enjoy seeing what products I use every day? Are there some there that you use as well? Let me know in the comments :)
