Affordable Makeup Mini Reviews

High end makeup is great. It's luxurious and lovely but lately, I've just been leaning towards affordable makeup. There are so many amazing brands out there that are killing it right now. I've bought quite a few gems in the last couple of months and I thought I'd share my thoughts!

I tried this foundation years ago and didn't really get on with it as the palest shade, I think it was True Ivory, was just a little too dark for me but then I saw on Twitter that they released some new shades so I thought I'd try it again. And I have to say that I love it! It's the perfect everyday foundation with medium coverage and isn't too matte for my dry skin!

I've never really been a fan of loose powders as I feel they leave a sort of white cast on your base makeup but then I discovered the COTY Airspun powder and was converted! So I thought I'd try out some other brands and I'd heard such good things about this Rimmel Powder, and I wasn't disappointed. It's on par with my Airspun powder and keeps my makeup perfectly in place without looking too cakey.

Pores wouldn't be my biggest problem skin-wise but I do have issues with makeup lasting on my nose and this primer is a great help with that! It's very similar to Benefit's Porefessional in texture and effect! I wouldn't use it as my only primer but I love using it on my nose and cheeks on a night out for that little bit of extra security!

Everyone and their mother has heard about the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. It was the it affordable concealer for so long. I was obsessed with it for years and then I don't know if they changed the formula or something but it began oxidising really badly and dried down so pink that I stopped reaching for it. Then they released an extra fair shade and hey presto I'm obsessed again! No oxidising and it's everything that I loved about the concealer back in the day.

This is just on the cusp of being affordable as it is £19.95 on Beauty Bay but it is technically a drugstore product as it's sold in chemists. I know, it's quite a leap but it is a really good little contour kit. The bronzer is such a dupe for Mac's Give Me Sun and the contour shade is just perfect! The only thing I didn't get on well with was the highlighter, it was far too dark for my skin tone but it would be gorgeous on someone with a tan! And I can make it work as a blush so it's not all bad!

I've spoken before about how much I love the original Soph palette with Revolution Beauty, read the review here, so I was extremely excited when Soph announced that she was releasing another collection with Revolution! This palette is the perfect accompaniment to the first palette but stands very well on it's own! They're all crazy pigmented and as with the first palette it's a great palette to do a multitude of looks with!

Affordable mascaras are where it's at! I never obsess over high end mascaras the way I do with affordable mascaras! The latest one is this fab release from Collection. It's my new ride or die mascara. It's just the perfect black, it picks up every little lash, adds volume, adds length and is just brilliant.

As much as I love makeup, I'm a lazy gal at heart. Sometimes I'm in the mood to do an elaborate glam look and sometimes I literally loathe putting a brush to my face. This liquid eye topper from Collection is perfect for bringing the most basic eye look from 0 to 100 with little to no effort. Perfect for my lazy days!

Endorsed by the queen of makeup, NikkieTutorials, this is the best eye base out there. It makes the true pigment of eyeshadows just pop. Paige has changed the makeup game with this base and I can't do an eyeshadow look without it! Also again it's not really technically affordable but it's such a good product that I couldn't not include it! Don't hate me!

Another new release from Soph and Revolution! She actually released three lipsticks but Fudge has to be my absolute favourite. I don't normally go for as dark a nude as this but I've been loving wearing this shade on the daily.

This one is cheating a little because you can't actually buy this liner on its own. It's part of a liquid lipstick kit. Every so often when I make an order off Revolution Beauty they throw in a freebie like a liner or a single eyeshadow. This liner was in one of my many packages! This is gorgeous paired with the Soph Fudge lipstick and has been my go to combo for the last month or so!

I love doing mini reviews! Would you like to see more of them? Also let me know your thoughts if you've tried any of these products! I love chatting about makeup faves!
