April Monthly Wrap Up

I love how when I make a post saying “I’m so motivated and ready to post ALL the content” I immediately then drop off the face of the earth πŸ˜… I know it’s a bit late for an April wrap up given that it’s almost the end of May but hey ho let’s just go with it!

LIFE
April was a crazy month for me. Pretty early on in the month I got thrown for a loop career wise and I can’t share the ins and outs of it just yet but let's just say it’s taken over my life a little.

I also went on holiday at the end of April. I went to Disneyland Paris for a couple of days then as soon as I got back I jumped on another plane and went to Lanzarote for a week.

I’ve been on a LOT of amazing holidays in my time but going to Lanzarote with my friends has to be in my top three favourite holidays of all time.

I wrote in my last wrap up post that the imposter syndrome feeling was beginning to lift and it was! It really was, but I still wasn't feeling like myself. I felt like my spark had gone out. Little did I know that a trip away to a sunny paradise was just what I needed to flip the switch and feel like myself again. I ate really good food, I drank a lot of gin, I sunbathed, I had giggles with my friends and I read one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life.

Lanzarote was such a tonic in so many ways. Would 10/10 recommend if you need to recharge and relax.

I’m just taking life one step at a time right now. The career stuff will be what it's going to be and I'm not going to stress myself out over it.

BLOGGING/CONTENT

I finished March feeling so bloody inspired to write all the blog posts and create all the content but like it always does life got in the way. I didn't blog at all during April bar one post and this will be my first post in May which is slightly underwhelming as May is over next week. Here's hoping for June to be slightly more productive.

I've been having a long hard think about what I want to post on here and what kind of content excites me. Looking back at March, I was so excited by the Mother Hen Blog Challenge because of the topics and the chance to have a good ramble. My love for blogging really lies in lifestyle type posts where I can be chatty and less in beauty reviews, fashion posts etc. I know these are the most popular type of content and I'll still dabble with them on Instagram (More on that later) but I just don't think it's where I want to go with my blog.

My blog schedule going forwards will be new posts live every Tuesday and Thursday at 9pm πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I'll still be posting Disney, fashion and general lifestyle content over on my blog Instagram.

Beauty and makeup content will be over at makeupbysarahlou, going live on Saturdays

And there will be a book review/wrap up every so often on the blog on a Sunday. There will also be book related content posted over at sarahloureads_ every Sunday.

I know that is a LOT to take in, it's a lot of potential content over a lot of different platforms but I've been thinking about this ad nausuem since I decided to relaunch my blog and this is the plan that I feel most confident in and most excited about!

I'm going to wrap up this wrap-up (see what I did there 😜 such puns!) here because I didn't really do anything else in April πŸ˜… I saw one film, watched no new tv apart from the new season of Game of Thrones and read exactly two books so I'm just going to add those into my May wrap up which should be with you on Tuesday 4th June 😁

I'd love to know what you think about my new content plan? Terrible? Awful? Love it? Couldn't care less? I want to know all your opinions πŸ€—
